Under moderate supervision, the Financial Analyst I will be responsible for assisting with accurately creating, forecasting and reporting company-wide fiscal budgets, revenues, and expenses. Works closely supervisor and with key institute officials and departments including but not limited to executive management, department heads, project managers, accounting, human resources, and the office of research contracts on tracking external and internal funding and staff utilizations.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Management and a minimum of 0-2 years of directly-related financial analysis experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Must have strong MS Excel skillset to create, and edit numerous forecasting and reporting worksheets. Requires a fundamental understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply financial standards and guidelines to the development of financial statements.
The successful candidate will be able to develop professional and effective relationships with both administrative and non-administrative managers and colleagues, and the ability to effectively communicate financial needs to Institute leadership.
Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy and discretion; excellent judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and strong customer-service skills. Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with solid judgment and discretion is critical, as well as the ability to perform duties independently.

Work is performed in an office environment. Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
