Overview

The Senior Research Scientist in Toxicology will provide scientific leadership and subject matter expertise in support of our preclinical and inhalation toxicology programs as well as support federal and commercial proposal development, particularly in the medical countermeasures space.   The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical knowledge, strategic insight, and strong client facing skills to advance our scientific capabilities and business development (BD) goals.  The Senior Research Scientist will also participate in business development client calls to provide scientific insight and technical guidance, support BD budget preparation and proposal development, serve as key opinion leader and/or PI on active studies to support study directors and client programs, attend and represent the company at major toxicology and inhalation conferences, provide on-site scientific support during key study milestones and client visits, and develop scientific and marketing materials including white papers, presentations and technical publication.  This is a Part-Time, 20 hour a week position and is eligible for benefits.  

Qualifications

Requires a Ph.D in Toxicology or a directly related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.

 

Must have demonstrated ability to handle fundamental scientific tasks and have published and/or presented original research in prior roles. Requires research experience in Toxicology  

 

Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and excellent problem-solving skills.  Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required.  Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team as well as the ability to maintain confidential information.  Requires professional-level computer skills and advanced experience with Excel, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed. 

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an office environment.  Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

Salary
