Under limited supervision, the Lead Facilities Technician will be responsible for planning, scheduling and servicing the facility, utility systems operations and maintenance activities. The Lead Facilities Technician will service, maintain and repair commercial/industrial (HVAC) air handling equipment as well as service and repair commercial refrigeration equipment. Perform architectural work; renovations, painting, carpentry, building repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures. Supervises Maintenance Workers in the performance of their daily activities.  

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is currently seeking a Boiler Operator/Mechanic Maintenance Worker III to join the Institute’s Facilities Team.   Under direct supervision, the Boiler Oprerator/Mechanic Maintenance Worker III will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing central plant equipment.  This includes heating hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors vacuum pumps and associated support equipment.  The individual will also assist with plumbing, HVAC repairs and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.

A post-doctoral research position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Jon Houck at the Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Research opportunities include existing behavioral and neuroimaging data on mechanisms of behavior change in alcohol and other substance use, a large longitudinal neuroimaging dataset in the area of adolescent substance use, multimodal neuroimaging datasets of psychosis spectrum disorders, and imaging data of various tasks with healthy volunteers. Ongoing neuroimaging work in the lab includes magnetoencephalography (MEG) and functional MRI (fMRI), non-invasive brain stimulation including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (tDCS/tACS), as well as psychotherapy. Ongoing collaborations include other researchers at MRN, the Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, and the University of New Mexico’s Center on Alcoholism, Substance use, And Addictions (UNM CASAA). The initial appointment period is for one year, which can be renewed. Primary responsibilities will consist of scientific manuscript writing and data analysis. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible to select and apply proper statistical tests, algorithms, and/or analytic methods. Training in grant writing is available and the researcher will have the opportunity to participate in NIH proposal preparation. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent research, remain abreast of developments in the field of research and develop novel research methods as needed.  Will also work directly with research teams in the Institute as well as with outside collaborators, develop proposals for research funding, present and publish research data, analyze and interpret a variety of data, and perform all other related research duties as required or assigned.   The project is funded by an NIH R01 focused on examining neural markers of attention in young children. We use noninvasive neuroimaging technology to understand brain function including magnetoencephalography (MEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The longitudinal, multimodal dataset will provide considerable opportunities for learning about all aspects of these neuroimaging techniques including data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation. You will be expected to work on publishing results as they become available.

An image processing and algorithm development postdoctoral position is currently available in Dr. Kent Kiehl's laboratory at The Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for developing advanced and novel computational tools for the analysis of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data, and will assist in the design and implementation of computer data systems including establishing coding formats for future research data collection. Will also evaluate the quality and validity of collected MRI data using statistical analysis tools, and will recommend additional tests and/or modifications to validate data.   The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for the development or selection of proper statistic tests, algorithms and methods, training research staff/students in using software packages for the analysis of MRI data such as SPM, AFNI and FSL, and developing new ideas that promote current research.   This opportunity includes access to the world's largest multimodal forensic database including structural and functional MRI, genetics, and clinical assessment data on over 3500 criminal offenders. The postdoctoral fellow will work on several federally-funded projects with a large and dynamic research team.

A Postdoctoral Fellow-Clinical position is currently available in Dr. Kent Kiehl’s laboratory at The Mind Research Network and the Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico (open until filled). The position is located in Albuquerque, NM.   The coordinator will work with a research team on several grant-funded studies designed to evaluate neurobehavioral characteristics of criminal offenders with antisocial (e.g., psychopathic, paraphilic) traits, long-term outcomes (e.g., after release from incarceration), and effects of treatment (e.g. mindfulness meditation, relapse prevention).  Primary responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments (e.g., SCID, WASI, DKEFS) with incarcerated offenders, training research staff, students, and volunteers on clinical assessments (e.g., educational presentations, hands-on training and supervision, developing SOPs for clinical assessment administration and scoring), and oversight of all clinical assessments across research projects to ensure reliability and fidelity (e.g., reviewing videotaped interviews, independent double rating of assessments). Will also assist with the development and administration of novel clinical assessments, such as those designed to evaluate lifetime traumatic experiences. Will oversee data entry, database storage, and overall organization and management of clinical data. The majority of time will be spent conducting clinical assessments in corrections facilities.   This opportunity includes access to the world’s largest multimodal forensic database including clinical assessment data, structural and functional MRI, and genetics on over 4000 offenders. Under general direction and reporting to the Controller, the Project Analyst is responsible for reporting, coordinating activities, resources, preparation of monthly billing and invoicing in support of projects for the Institute.     The Project Analyst will work with Scientists and other business units/leaders in the development of proposals, budgets and estimates for completion as well as establish track and monitor project schedules, deliverables and milestones. The Project Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financials to ensure that project goals are accomplished on time and on budget. Individual will communicate with sponsors, Scientists and Accounting and Finance personnel on project schedules, project and financial status including estimates to complete and deliverables, and perform all other duties and tasks as required or assigned.

Under direct supervision the Receiving Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for performing a combination of manual and/or automated shipping, receiving and inventory control duties. This position will receive incoming material and prepare materials for shipment according to shipping practices, procedures, rates, routes and available transportation. Packs and/or unpacks items verifying quantity, weight, and condition in addition to recording materials shipped and received.

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI) is seeking a Research Technologist with a background in bioanalytical - chemistry including but not limited to Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and Ligand Binding Assays (LBA). The position will support analytical and bioanalytical method development, validation and application of bioanalytical assays within the Scientific Core Laboratories (SCL). Additional duties will include laboratory support including but not limited to: laboratory inventory control, general laboratory metrology, sample management and curation, liaising with laboratory and quality colleagues to complete, document, and curate records from installation and operational qualification, validation, and change control for key laboratory equipment.   The job will involve working in multi-disciplinary scientific teams to, under supervision, develop and validate analytical and bioanalytical methods supporting sample analysis of formulation, analytical, and bioanalytical samples. Additional duties will include sample analysis, data QC, data production, and coordination with all SCL personnel and departments required to generate regulated bioanalytical data. Other duties may be assigned by direct supervisor or management as needed.

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI) is seeking a Research Technologist with a background in chemistry.  The position will build practical knowledge of analysis chemistry on a bachelor’s level of chemistry knowledge.  The position will support the development and validation of analytical assays along with analytical sample analysis.  A well-qualified candidate will have the opportunity to expand into formulation development and formulation preparation to support drug development.   The job will involve working in multi-disciplinary scientific teams to develop/characterize formulations and develop/validate/apply analytical chemistry methods for sample analysis. Working in the laboratory to process and analyze samples using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC).    

The Research Technologist assists in study execution; collects samples from and administers agents to research animals in accordance with IACUC standards with a large focus on necropsy on multiple species.  Participation in other pathology and study specific related duties (tissue collection, trimming, specimen processing and management, etc.) will be required.     Documents laboratory work to very high, accepted standards and maintains laboratory/medical equipment and supplies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols and regulations.  The successful candidate will assist in administrative functions of study execution such as labeling collection tubes and transporting supplies to appropriate area.   Individual will complete moderately complex work assignments as well as documenting laboratory work and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and performing all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Sr. Research Technologist within the Microbial analysis group. An individual who demonstrates exemplary organizational skills with a proven track record of working independently and on teams is ideal. The Sr. Research Technologist will primarily be responsible for assisting in the performance of multiple infectious disease research projects simultaneously in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, including the propagation, characterization, manipulation, and detection and/or quantification of bacterial, fungal, viral, and toxin agents.   The Sr. Research Technologist will be responsible for maintenance of continuous cell cultures, accurate and complete study records, supply inventory, and laboratory equipment. Responsibilities also include developing paperwork, analyzing data, processing study samples for quantification of viable microbes including bacteria, fungi, and/or viruses, and performing a variety of biochemical assays (including, but not limited to, qPCR, ELISA, and microscopic analyses), all while maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment.

Under general direction, the Systems Administrator installs, integrates, and maintains data network components, network communications equipment, and network workstations.  The Systems Administrator will monitor network performance and performs network analysis to reduce system downtime and improve network performance.  This position will diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion as well as provide end user and technician support when required.

The recent joining of Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI) with the Touro University System that includes New York Medical College (NYMC) has expanded our academic prowess and the potential to conduct innovative clinical trials to impact respiratory diseases. While NYMC’s primary mission is training medical and dental students, it also offers graduate programs in experimental pathology, microbiology, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology and conducts research across these disciplines. Applicants should have a demonstrated research expertise and record of accomplishment in Lung Cancer, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Immunology, Toxicology, or Infectious Disease. Applicants must demonstrate significant research experience and a record of accomplishment in basic, population, and/or translational research. LBRI provides state-of-the-art research space/equipment and full administrative support. Under general direction, the Veterinarian Technician conducts a variety of routine health care procedures on the Institute’s animal populations following established techniques and procedures.  Procedures include, but not limited to clinical diagnostics, sample collection, administration of drugs or therapeutics, anesthetic monitoring from induction to recovery, dental prophylaxis, and related activities.   The Veterinarian Technician participates in routine animal colony maintenance and preventative care, including health assessments, vaccination, and other prescribed health maintenance procedures.  Individual may be required to work with biological samples such as blood, serum, plasma and urine.
